Dean’s Message
The recent CDC update for San Diego County to the Orange Tier has enabled businesses, restaurants, hotels, gyms and fitness centers, places of worship, barber shops and hair salons…..the complete list can be found here:
All EMT and Paramedic Training Institutions have been deemed as “essential” training by San Diego County EMS. Therefore, they were allowed to open for face-to-face instruction with restrictions. EMSTA College has been following the CDC guidelines and restrictions since May, 2021.
However, because the County has been upgraded to the Orange Tier, EMSTA College will now start to teach lecture face-to-face for both Programs, starting on April 20, 2021 for the Paramedic Training Program and June 28, 2021 for the EMT Program. We will continue to have students on-campus for skills labs, working in small groups. However, the evening EMT Class will continue with Zoom lecture until August 23, 2021. The College will continue to follow pre-established CDC Guidelines to ensure student safety.
We remain committed to the success of our students and want to support their ability to gain the education and skills necessary to begin a rewarding career in EMS, with safety being our major goal.
Stay safe!
