Paramedic Class 42 Starts

The Paramedic Training Program prepares students for a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) including ambulance and other mobile units. Students will be prepared to perform an advanced level of care for patients in the event of a medical emergency or trauma.

This 14 month course includes a combination of classroom lecture, skills, simulations, clinical (hospital) experience and internship for a total of 1,249 hours of training.

Classroom portion – 369 hours of lecture presentations, discussion and workshops (approx. 6 months).
Practical portion – 191 hours of skills in laboratory conditions designed to familiarize the students in the procedures associated with the practice of Paramedicine.
Clinical Experience- 160 hours of practical, hands-on training with actual patients during controlled, in-hospital training sessions.
Field Internship- 529 hours on an ALS unit, assigned to a Field Preceptor while performing as a Paramedic, under direct supervision.

To be considered for the Paramedic Training Program you must have a minimum of 1 year or 2000 hours experience working as an EMT and have completed a Paramedic Prep. and Anatomy & Physiology Course. These courses are also available at EMSTA College.

This course is taught by seasoned instructors who assist the students throughout the course by providing continual instructor access, tutoring, simulations practice and other interactive teaching tools. We utilize technology to further the students understanding of the material in the form of SIMM Man (a computerized manikin), iPads, multimedia capable classrooms and a computer lab. This is a 14 month course that conforms to California Law, Title 22, Article 3, Section 100148 of the Health and Safety Code.

July Classes are taught Mon/Wed, 9:00am – 5:00 pm.

January Classes are taught Tue/Thurs, 9:00am -5:00pm.
